Restoring opportunities, rebuilding lives.
WHAT WE DO
Through our growing list of initiatives, Wash Away offers employment, housing, and other stability-building opportunities for our justice-involved population.

WHY WE DO IT
We are striving to reduce revocations, increasing public safety, and strengthening families. We do this through one-on-one, peer-to-peer support, skill assessment, and self development training with justice-involved populations, and by simultaneously working with local employers to reduce the stigma associated with a criminal record.
A COMMUNITY OF TINY HOMES
Through our collaborative partnerships we are building tiny homes to be used by citizens who face barriers in accessing adequate housing as they reintegrate back into the community.
Our mission is to empower individuals to tap into their inner resilience and self sufficiency, whether they face homelessness due to being justice-involved, are disabled veterans, or just because "life" happened.

BAN THE BOX
Wash Away Unemployment is among the organizations that have campaigned to "Ban the Box" and remove criminal history questions from applications for state employment.
Executive Order 158 will affect the more than 1.7 million people in North Carolina who have a criminal record and may face barriers to employment because of that record.
